Where does the money from a disaster fund go?

All donations to this fund support relief and recovery efforts in the region(s) affected by the specific disaster. In the immediate aftermath, the fund helps first responders carry out search and rescue operations and provide urgent assistance—including shelter, medical care, food, and clean water—to those in need.

As relief efforts transition to recovery, GlobalGiving allocates remaining funds to support long-term rebuilding and resilience initiatives, primarily led by local organizations working directly with affected communities.

All nonprofit partners that receive support through GlobalGiving are thoroughly vetted to ensure transparency and effectiveness.
