If you receive an unexpected message saying your organization has been selected for funding, with someone claiming that GlobalGiving has approved your organization for a grant or disbursement, but requires you to pay a processing fee, administrative charge, tax, or insurance deposit before funds can be released, this is a scam.
GlobalGiving will never require organizations to pay upfront to receive funding.
While GlobalGiving retains a small percentage of donations as part of our standard, publicly disclosed fee structure, those fees are automatically deducted from donations. Organizations are never asked to make a payment before receiving funding.
Be especially cautious if:
- You receive an unexpected funding notification.
- You're asked to pay any fee before receiving funds.
- The message creates urgency or pressure to act quickly.
- You're contacted before completing GlobalGiving's due diligence process.
