How do I know if a donation request is really from GlobalGiving?

Scammers sometimes create fake emails, websites, or social media posts that use GlobalGiving's name and branding to request donations.

Scammers may also create accounts impersonating GlobalGiving or our staff on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms to contact individuals or nonprofits directly.

These scams are especially common during humanitarian emergencies and natural disasters.

Before making a donation:

  • Make sure you're visiting globalgiving.org.
  • Check that the website address is spelled correctly.
  • Be cautious of websites with similar names, such as global-giving.org or globalgifting.org.

If you're unsure whether a donation request is legitimate, verify it through GlobalGiving's official website before donating.
